From an object of the Sicilian tradition, a frame of golden leaves dedicated to engaged couples, the customer has developed the idea to decorate the Christmas Windows of the brand with a design of golden leaves to match the outfits of the collection.
We have realized approximately 200 Windows, of different size and configurations, in several creative arrangements: the chair, the throne, the frame…
This project begins with love at first sight: Dolce & Gabbana buy a traditional object in a small shop in Sicily and it becomes the inspiration for the Christmas Windows of their stores.
They ask the cooperation of Giovanardi to realize their idea, to design the Windows, to produce the golden leaves in suitable way and time, relying on a customized production and distribution process.
Studying the picture presented by the customer, our first action consists in the involvement of a professional sculptor to work on the leaves and reproduce the exact design desired by the customer.

We study two different processes to realize the leaves, we choose the metal drawing, we identify the best production technique, according to the timing of the project.
During production, we need to speed up with the production of the leaves, which is taking a longer time than the other elements: each leaf has to be positioned manually on the Window.
So we decide to duplicate the moulds to match the timeline: we are working on about 8000 leaves, so it is important to expedite technical reproducibility. We produce the leaves, classificate them and sort them according to the positioning on the Windows.

The design of the New York Window is the most powerful on the communication perspective. The project is so appreciated that Dolce & Gabbana ask to produce a unique unit for themselves.
