Summary

This work is an ensemble of symbols for objects. An iron and aluminium shape, a kind of ‘big snake’ in concave steel modules welded together that looks like a classic drainpipe. It’s a carousel waiting to be turned on, conceived ‘for a city street corner’. There is also a shape that seems to be a lamp installed near a corner. A steel tube curved in three places vaguely resembles a body seen in profile, from the neck to the hand in which a spotlight is inserted. Infinite shapes that refer to the body and its functions, bringing together an existing piece with three new works, positioned in space at the average height of a human body, avoiding a frontal encounter with the viewer and instead suggesting an utilitarian purpose.

Tipo Vespasiano

Tube in anticorodal aluminium 6mm thick, hand polished and subjected to a polishing process. Channel created by welding iron sections 1mm thick, pickled and calendered, subjected to a process of controlled natural oxidation. The whole work is assembled by cables in harmonic steel and held in position by regulating clamps designed ad hoc. Ballast of sand to confer necessary stability.

Dimensions:  250 x 80 x h150 cm

Dumbbells

Bars of anticorodal aluminium in circular sections, mechanically curved. CNC (computer numerical control) milling of the disks and transparent varnish for an effect of polished gold.

Torch

Steel tube 4mm thick, mechanically curved. Chemical satin effect for the surface. Pantone True Red paint 19-1664 TPG. LED spotlight with a hand-polished aluminium body.
